Body Shop: Miniature Repair

I was disappointed to find that one of my favorite miniatures, the Elysian Drop Troop Sniper, had lost the barrel of his weapon in transport. So I took the opportunity to add a new, longer barrel, complete with suppressor.

I like the length but the suppressor is a bit big. I tried to shave it down a bit with a diamond file, but it started coming apart, so I coated it with super glue and left it at that.

I think the repair job does the trick, and doubt anyone will clock that it is a repair even if they do notice that it is not an OEM part. ;)

Kill Team: Kasrkin Special Forces

Here's my penultimate Inquisitorial Requisition: Kasrkin. I've been holding off on getting them as I didn't think I liked the plastic Cadian range, but it appears I was mistaken. These guys are great! All business and no-nonsense, with stripped-down kit and decent if bulky armor.

I've painted them in my Space Hulk Fitzcorraldo style: blue and white, with copper accents.

There are a couple of things I want to touch up - add some glowy bits, eyes on the squad leader, and so on - but maybe I'll just leave 'em be and move on to the next thing.

Inquisitorial Agents: Sisters of Silence

Here is a half-squad of anti-psycher Sisters of Battle, ready to assist a team of Inquisitorial Agents.

One of these models is the 1,200th miniature I've painted since January 9th, 2024.

Kill Team Vespid Stingwings: Clever Pun

I just picked one up and stream-of-consciousness painted them until they looked done. I think they turned out alright, despite the lack of foresight or planning.

Anyway, that's the Hivestorm box complete! I've certainly never painted up a boxed set as quickly as this one, but I have to say that the quality of the set has had a lot to do with my enthusiasm for finishing.

Kill Team Exaction Squad: Dress to Impress

Among the retinues and auxilia of Lord Inquisitor Kalvan's forces are the feared Shore Patrol - Arbites enforcers tasked with ensuring that there are no deserters from the Fitzgerald when planetary ops are required. These teams are often deployed to populated worlds to press gang new recruits, when existing forces are depleted or when an especially challenging operation is anticipated.

Kill Zone: Volkus

The terrain from the Kill Team Hivestorm set. Lots of pieces for variety, good verticality, overall looks like a great board to play Kill Team on!

Allusian Naval Infantry: a Bespoke Veteran Guardsmen Kill Team

After 25 years, I have finally gotten some use out of my Forge World Elysian Drop Troops!

Command Section:

I made judicious use of various 3d-printed resin bits to customize some of the team.

I also dug into my bits box for Inquisition pieces, Kroot gear, and others.

Presented here are nearly all of the options available to a Vet Guard Kill Team - I may add a Confident Vet with bolter at a later date.

Storm Section:

In the meantime, please enjoy the completed team!

Gunnery Section:

Tactical Section:

Scout Section:

Nobody Expects the Finished Inquisition!

I can finally call these guys done. They fought me every inch of the way, and it shows, but I am happy with some of them, at least.

Enlightened and Interrogator

The Interrogator is holding a copy of the most recent Kill Team rules.

Tome Skull and Autosavant

These are my favorite guys. The Tome Skull text is hand-painted. I painted a bit of subtle OSL for the candle light on the Autosavant. They were fun to paint.

Servitors

Plasma and Heavy Bolter shown here. I also have a Melta barrel. The weapons are magnetized and hot-swappable.

Death World Veteran and Penal Legionnaire

The DWV is painted after Sargeant Stone, from the old 54mm Inquisitor game. The penile Penal Legionnaire looked a bit Hive-Worldy, so I did him up like that.

Pistoleer and Questkeeper

The Pistoleer is the coolest dude.

Hexorcist and Mystic

I got a set with the Ashes of Faith boxed set, but added another since most of the bodies can be used for two different characters. I did end up with a spare Autosavant and Tome-Skull, but I'm sure I'll find a use for extra robots down the road.

Close Quarters: Taking Your Kill Team Into the Dark

This was a nice big project, but I got to burn through a ton of B movies while painting. I'm glad to have both open and closed boards for my new favorite skirmish game!

Voidscarred Corsairs are my third Kill Team

I should not have bought a new Kill Team with five unpainted ones in the queue, but I couldn't resist. These Voidscarred are a call back to the OG 40k, and every single one of them is a great sculpt.

Starstorm Duelist

Kurnathi

Felarch

Soul Weaver

Kurnite Hunter

Shade Runner

Blaster Gunner

Shredder Gunner

Way Seeker

Fate Dealer

I really leaned into these guys. It was fun, but I dunno if I will keep up this level of intensity. There's a joy and a freedom to sketching!

My Three-Body Problem

My three-body problem is:

Is this one building?

Or is it three?

This great kit was a recent gift. I think it'll make I nice strongpoint, or a table quarter's worth of urban sprawl. I'm even tempted to paint up my MDF stuff now!

Warcrow - the Adventure Begins Again

So it's time for my annual foray into Warcrow Adventures, Corvus Belli's tabletop Dungeon Crawler. This time though I plan on trying...
